Cathedral High School loses on a controversial call in the Eastern Massachusetts Division 4A Super Bowl in Waltham.

Cathedral loses to Blue Hills 16-14 at Bentley University stadium, when Cathedral quarterback Matt Owens’ 56-yard touchdown run at the end of the fourth quarter is negated by a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct – raising his left arm in celebration a few yards before carrying the ball into the end zone. It is the first loss of the season for Cathedral, which had won all 12 of its previous games.
